Guyala Mentorship Program

The Guyala Mentorship Program is a dedicated initiative designed to empower and guide diverse young individuals from Indigenous and Pasifika backgrounds. Focused on a holistic approach, our program centers around key pillars, including culture, soft skill development, life skills, career trajectory, advocacy, and community connection and involvement.

Our target demographic is young people aged 14 to 24, and we've crafted two flexible versions of the program to cater to their needs. The first is an in-person option located in Rockhampton, providing a tangible, community-based experience. The second version is conducted over video calls, featuring fortnightly group sessions and individual sessions. This dual approach ensures accessibility for a wider audience and accommodates diverse preferences and circumstances.

Through regular engagements, our mentorship program seeks to foster personal and professional growth. Participants will benefit from tailored one-on-one sessions, carefully designed to equip them not only to excel but to thrive in various aspects of life. These sessions cover a spectrum of topics, including cultural enrichment, soft skill honing, life skills acquisition, career pathway exploration, advocacy skills development, and active participation in community initiatives.

Our overarching goal is to provide a supportive environment where these young individuals can flourish. We believe in cultivating not just competence, but resilience and a sense of purpose. The program aims to instill confidence, nurture talents, and encourage a strong sense of community engagement among participants. By offering a well-rounded mentorship experience, we aspire to empower the next generation to navigate life's challenges with confidence and succeed in both their personal and professional pursuits.
